The MD-CD1 puts a CD player and a MiniDisc recorder/player in a single 2U rackmount case. It is built for fixed installation use and offers RS-232C serial control, a PS/2 keyboard input for title entry and transport control, and a wireless IR remote.
On the CD side it plays MP3 files with ID3 tag display and offers pitch control of up to 16%, with a tempo change that leaves the key untouched. The MiniDisc section records and plays in stereo, mono, LP2 and LP4 modes, with editing, overwrite recording and 12.5% pitch control. Discs can be duplicated from CD to MiniDisc at up to 4x speed, and the unit can play continuously from the MD to the CD section.
Both sections have dedicated digital and analog outputs; the MD section adds optical digital and RCA analog I/O. An optional LA-MC1 board adds balanced I/O for installations that need it.
