The Trim-Two is a two-channel passive direct box built for consumer-style line-level playback sources. Two transformers isolate and balance the outputs of the connected device, which removes hum and buzz caused by ground loops and allows long cable runs without signal degradation.
A level control lets the user trim the signal quickly during a performance, for example to avoid distortion when feeding from a headphone output. A mono sum switch combines the two channels, either to reduce the number of output channels or to send the same signal to two destinations.
Several input connector types allow laptops, smartphones, tablets, keyboards, drum machines and DJ equipment to be connected, including a 3.5 mm input for headphone outputs. The circuit is entirely passive, so no power supply or battery is needed. Outputs are balanced for connection to a mixer or PA system. Rack and mounting accessories from the maker's range, such as the J-Rak 4, J-Rak 8 and J-Clamp, are listed as compatible options.
