The PA-One combines a valve amplification stage with analogue and digital inputs. Its valve complement is two 6SL7, two 6SN7 and one EZ81. Low and high impedance modes allow it to drive a wide range of headphones, and there are two 6.3mm headphone sockets on the output side.
Inputs cover two balanced XLR, RCA phono, coaxial, optical and USB. The USB input works with Windows and Mac computers, is USB 1.1 and 2.0 compliant, and handles sample rates up to 192kHz. A set of RCA outputs lets the unit act as a preamplifier feeding a power amplifier or other system components.
The front panel has a large volume knob and a balance control, along with input selection and impedance mode controls. The valves and electronics sit in a Lancaster Grey steel chassis sized to work as a stand-alone desktop unit or as part of a larger system.
