Speaker Box 3E

The Speaker Box 3E is a small passive stereo speaker sold as a pair. Each cabinet is made of non-resonating MDF and uses a two-way bass reflex design with a rear-firing port. A 0.75-inch silk dome tweeter handles the highs and a 3-inch fibre glass bass/mid driver covers the rest of the range, giving a stated response of 89 Hz to 20 kHz.

It is built for tight spaces such as a desk or a home cinema, where a mono Bluetooth speaker or soundbar cannot give true stereo. The cabinets measure 160 x 106 x 152 mm and weigh 1.37 kg each. Magnetic grills are included, and finishes are high gloss black, white and wood. Wall mount brackets are available separately.

Connection is through gold plated banana terminals, so it needs a separate amplifier. A model with at least 10 watts per channel is recommended, and the speaker accepts 10 to 80 watts. Suggested partners from the same maker are the Stereo Box S3 BT and the MaiA S3.
