The Next Step Volume Pedal is a volume controller for guitar and other instruments. It belongs to the Next Step Effects series and sweeps the volume without using a potentiometer, optics or magnetism, which leaves no pots, footswitches or gears inside to wear out. The result is a responsive and expressive feel for level changes.
It has a direct output and a separate effect output, with a bypass level control so the unaffected signal can be set independently. Bypass switching is instantaneous and completely silent. The housing has no moving parts, and the maker describes it as ultra-rugged.
Power comes from a 9V battery that is supplied with the pedal. A 9V power supply can be added as an option. The maker lists the model as discontinued in 2020, and an owner's manual is available for download.
