The pedal combines two hard-clipping overdrive channels, based on a classic gray-box overdrive circuit, with a bigger bass response than the original design. Each channel has a gain knob, a level knob and a three-position clipping toggle. A channel switch selects between the two, and a separate footswitch turns the effect on and off.
The green channel offers silicon diodes (bright, loud, with a tube-like break-up), germanium diodes (looser, with more low end and less output) or no clipping. The red channel offers LED clipping (loudest, cleanest and most touch sensitive), MOSFET clipping (most compressed, with a tighter crunch) or no clipping. In the no-clipping position each channel behaves as a clean boost until the gain passes about 1 o'clock, then saturates the op-amp into a loud, biting distortion.
The pedal is true bypass with electronic relay-based switching, so no audio passes when it is unpowered. It runs from a 9 V DC supply with a 2.1 mm negative-centre barrel connector and draws 45 mA. The maker recommends isolated pedal-specific power supplies and warns against higher voltages.
