The RS 3 stabilises a camera on three axes, with a tested payload of 3 kg and an aluminum alloy construction. Automated axis locks let the gimbal unfold and ready itself when the power button is held. A mode switch changes between Pan Follow, Pan and Tilt Follow and FPV, and the FPV position can be reassigned to 3D Roll 360, Portrait or Custom. SuperSmooth mode raises motor torque for fast-moving scenes and needs the lens-fastening support fitted. ActiveTrack follows one subject.
Controls include a trigger, front dial for electronic focus, camera control button, joystick, M button and a colour touchscreen with 11 interface languages. The built-in battery grip is rated for up to 12 hours of runtime and charges in about 2.5 hours over USB-C. The gimbal can be used while charging.
The gimbal connects to the Ronin app over Bluetooth 5.0. Bluetooth shutter control works with supported cameras, and a USB-C port handles camera control and focus motor connections. NATO ports, 1/4"-20 mounting holes and a cold shoe allow accessories to be added. The ports are not waterproof or dustproof.
