The VMX1000USB is a rack-mount DJ mixer with seven channels. Its USB connection lets it record to and play back from a PC or Mac without driver installation. RCA inputs take turntables, tape, CD and MP3 players, and two dedicated mic channels handle announcements and vocals. Talkback ducking starts automatically when someone speaks into the mic, with a Sensitivity knob for the voice and a Depth knob for how far the music drops.
Mixing controls include ULTRAGLIDE faders rated for up to 500,000 cycles and a VCA-controlled crossfader with adjustable curve, a Reverse switch and a Hold function. Each channel has a Gain control and a 3-band kill EQ with -32 dB of cut. Two built-in BPM counters offer Sync Lock and Beat Assist. The XPQ 3D Surround effect widens the stereo image, and a 10-segment LED ladder meter shows main output level.
Extra features include a Mic Aux Send with stereo returns for an effects processor used only on the mics, EQ Bypass switches on stereo channels, and a subwoofer output with adjustable crossover (30 - 200 Hz) and level control. Main outputs use balanced XLR connectors. A separate Main 2 RCA output with its own volume control can feed a second zone. A free software bundle download is included.
