Hi-X18

The Hi-X18 is a limited-edition model made to mark five years of Austrian Audio's headphone line. It is a closed-back, over-ear design built around the Hi-X driver: a 44 mm transducer with a ring magnet system and a copper-clad aluminum voice coil, intended to give fast impulse response and a balanced tonal character.

The build includes metal hinges and a reinforced metal headband, and the headphones fold for transport. Memory-foam cushions on the ear pads and headband are meant to keep the fit secure during long sessions. The ear pads use a patented system that allows them to be swapped in a few steps while keeping the acoustic behavior consistent.

The headphones connect with a detachable 3 m cable ending in a 3.5 mm (1/8") connector. With 25 Ω impedance and 113 dBspl/V sensitivity, they are specified for professional and creative listening, recording and mixing use.
