The TD-25KV is an electronic drum kit built around the TD-25 sound module, which uses the SuperNATURAL engine with Behavior Modeling inherited from Roland's flagship TD-30. The kit has a 10-inch PDX-100 snare pad with positional sensing and rim shot/cross stick support, three mesh-head tom pads, a KD-9 cloth-head kick pad, and a VH-11 V-Hi-Hat that mounts on a standard acoustic hi-hat stand. Two 12-inch crash cymbals and a 13-inch ride swing naturally. The crashes offer edge/bow sensing and choke control, and the ride adds bell triggering.

The module is designed for fast operation. A large center dial selects kits by style and toggles between variations. Hitting a pad calls up its sound for editing with the knobs (instrument, tuning, muffling, level). Tom shortcuts adjust all toms together, edits save automatically, and recent changes can be undone. A dedicated metronome section and Coach functions support practice.

WAV/MP3 files on a USB memory stick can be played back with looping and slowed-down speed. Performances can be recorded as audio to the same stick. A smartphone can be connected to the audio input for playing along. The USB host port carries audio and MIDI to a computer for DAW recording. A drum stand (MDS-9SC or MDS-STANDARD) is sold separately.
