The JCM900 4100 is a reissue of a two-channel valve head first released in January 1990. Channel A covers clean tones and Channel B covers lead and crunch sounds. Each channel has its own volume and reverb control, and the shared tone section has treble, middle, bass and presence. A spring reverb is built in.
A switch drops the output from 100W to 50W, so the amp can be used at lower volume in a rehearsal room or at home. The effects loop has a level control for connecting pedals or processors. The valve complement is two ECC83 in the preamp, one ECC83 as phase splitter and four 5881 power valves.
The head has one 1/4" instrument input and two 1/4" speaker outputs with a selectable 16Ω, 8Ω or 4Ω load, for connecting extension cabinets. It is built at the maker's factory in Bletchley, England, and finished in black and gold. A PEDL-91004 footswitch, detachable power cable and speaker cable are included.
