The SR305EB is a five-string electric bass with a 34-inch scale, 24 medium frets and a Jatoba fretboard with white dot inlays. The body is Okoume and the neck is built from five pieces of maple and walnut. Hardware is black, and the bridge is an Accu-cast B125 with a 16.5 mm string spacing.

Two passive PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups, one at the neck and one at the bridge, feed an Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ. The 3-way Power Tap switch selects tapped (single-coil), series (humbucking) or Power Tap mode, which combines single-coil clarity with extra low end. Treble, mid and bass controls each offer roughly ±15 dB of boost or cut, and there are separate volume and pickup balancer knobs.

The bass is strung with D'Addario EXL165 strings in a .045 to .130 set, tuned B-E-A-D-G. The neck is 45 mm wide at the nut and 68 mm at the 24th fret, with a 305 mm fingerboard radius. It is listed in Weathered Black (WK) and Walnut Flat (WNF).
