The S1000W is an active two-way bookshelf speaker set with built-in Class-D amplification and DSP-based electronic crossovers and dynamic control. Each speaker pairs a 5.5-inch aluminium mid/bass unit with a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter, and the front-facing drivers sit in an angled cabinet designed to reduce resonance. Total output is rated at 35W×2 for mid/bass plus 25W×2 for treble.
Streaming is handled over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 5.2. Wi-Fi setup is done through the Edifier Home app. The speakers support Apple AirPlay 2, Amazon Alexa, Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect, and can be grouped into a multi-room system. Digital audio up to 24-bit/192kHz is supported and the speakers carry Hi-Res Audio certification.
Wired sources connect through optical, coaxial and two sets of RCA line inputs. A remote control is included for volume and playback, and bass, treble and volume controls are also on the speaker. Phono sources need a pre-amp, either built into the turntable or external, because the inputs expect line level.
