The DT 797 PV is a wired, closed-back, circumaural headset that pairs 250 ohm headphones with a built-in condenser microphone. The ear cups are based on the DT 770 PRO design, which gives strong isolation from ambient noise, and the soft softskin ear pads sit around the ear.
The microphone capsule has a cardioid pickup pattern, which is intended to give high noise cancellation and help prevent feedback. The headset is also built to resist high-frequency interference (RFI) from sources such as GSM, DECT, UMTS and Tetra, which suits it to environments crowded with wireless signals.
The headphones weigh 395 g without the cable and cover a frequency response of 5 to 30,000 Hz at a nominal sound pressure level of 100 dB. The connection is wired with no remote. A spec sheet, manual and EU declaration of conformity are available for download, and the EDT 770 S softskin ear pad set is listed as a spare part.
