The Kastle 2 Alchemist is a monophonic, patchable instrument built around four oscillators and five synthesis modes: Filter, FM, Hypersine, Supersaw and Glitchnoise. A main Timbre sweep is refined by a Ratio control, while the Env macro shapes envelope behaviour, sets drone modes and can morph between synthesis modes. A Pitch Slide macro adds pitch envelope and portamento.
A tempo-synced pattern generator provides CV and gate outputs that can be patched into the two Pitch Mod inputs for sequenced melodies in a chosen scale. A syncable LFO, a dual effects section (delay on the left, chorus/flanger/distortion on the right) and a stereo audio input with gain let the unit process outside signals. Rhythms, scales and sequencer step counts can be customised in a web-based app.
Power comes from three AA batteries or USB-C. The USB-C port also carries USB MIDI in and out (clock, notes, CCs), firmware updates and editor access. Sync in and out jacks allow it to run with other portable gear. A DIY kit version is also offered.
